  • On 12 September, I was invited as a speaker to the 2 day orientation program organized by Turkish Women’s International Network. 60 campus leaders coming from 40 universities across Turkey came together in Istanbul to kick off the 2015/16 academic year and reflect on professions, leadership, communication skills, mentoring, team building, private branding, career planning & goal setting and knowing oneself. It was an amazing event and learning circle. One more time, I have realized that speaking at certain events is not only about transferring what you know as an experienced person; it is also about gaining new perspectives from younger generations.

Thank you all who were a part of this event and helped us stay hopeful for Turkey and the world.

  • My recent article which focuses on the foundations of intercultural interaction has been submitted to the review of International Review of Education Journal for their special issue. What I argue is self-awareness – about one’s own normative settings - and acceptance of the equality of different cultural approaches are the very foundations of any intercultural interaction. They should be understood and digested well instead of directly jumping into the end result.

  • I would also like to share with you the Coca-Cola’s Ramadan advertisement. It is a 2:48 minutes video. I thought that anyone who has been functioning and interacting in culturally diverse settings and backgrounds should see that. Here is the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84OT0NLlqfM
